New Deal Offers Free Tickets at Jackson, Wyoming, Ski Areas
Got a trip to Jackson, Wyoming, on the books? Just considering one?
A new deal makes the excursion a little sweeter for skiers. Three of the town’s local ski resorts—Jackson Hole, Grand Targhee, and Snow King—are now offering free lift tickets to air travelers on the day they arrive.
All you have to do is fly into Jackson Hole Airport, rock up to your chosen resort, show a boarding pass or flight confirmation with your name, arrival date, and arrival into JAC, plus a matching photo, and get your ticket.
The offer only applies to the day that you land, and details differ from resort to resort.
At Snow King, a smaller and locals-oriented mountain, the tickets are full-day tickets and are available from December 4 onwards.
At Grand Targhee, the tickets are half-day tickets and are available from November 20 through April 18 with the following blackout dates: December 24 to January 3, February 12 to February 15.
At Jackson Hole, the tickets are also half-day tickets available from November 27 through closing day, with blackout dates from December 19 to January 2, January 15 to January 18, and February 13 to February 20.

To those wondering, no, these resorts are not hours and hours from the Jackson airport. Snow King’s the closest and most humble option. It’s about a 20 minute drive. Jackson Hole’s a bit further—the drive’s around 30 minutes. Grand Targhee typically involves driving over Teton Pass, which takes around an hour and a half. All the drive times can be impacted by road and snow conditions.
Our recommendation? It depends on your plans.
If you’re going to Jackson Hole with an Ikon Pass, you could get a bonus half day on the front end of your trip. Or, to add a little variety, you could do some night skiing at Snow King, which is open til 6:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, before heading over to Jackson Hole. The Grand Targhee half-day tickets make the most sense for people staying at the ski area for multiple nights since it’s a bit further away.
