Deer Valley Installs Lift Towers On New Chairlift, 200 New Skiable Acres Available Winter 2026/2027

Hail Peak Express tower installation @ Deer Valley Resort

Yesterday Deer Valley Resort marked the latest major milestone in their multi-year Expanded Excellence plan with the installation of Hail Peak Express towers thanks to a heavy lift helicopter.

The new Hail Peak Express lift will open access to 200 new skiable acres. One of the seven runs that will debut this year on Hail Peak will be called “Hill Yeah” as a tribute to Hill Air Force Base in Northern Utah. As a reminder all you service members and military families out there, Deer Valley has a  Salute to Service program which offers exclusive lodging, lift ticket and resort offerings.

The Hail Peak Express is just one of the 11 new chairlifts installed in just two years. New chairlifts since December 2024 include Keetley Express, HooDoo Express, Aurora, Galena Express, Pioche Express, Neptune Express, Vulcan Express, Revelator Express, Pinyon Express, Hail Peak Express, and the Deer Valley East Village Gondola.

“Last winter transformed Deer Valley. This winter builds on that momentum by opening Hail Peak, expanding Deer Valley to 4,500 skiable acres, and continuing our investment in the lifts, snowmaking, and guest experience that define Deer Valley.” -Todd Bennett, Deer Valley Resort President & Chief Operating Officer

The new Hail Peak Express will carry skiers from Deer Valley East Village to the resort’s newest terrain on Hail Peak. With 86 chairs moving 2,400 guests per hour, Hail Peak Express opens new access to the easternmost edge of the resort.

Exciting times for one of our favorite resorts. Can’t wait to give the new Hail Peak Express a spin!
