Can You Beat Marcus Goguen? The FWT Champion Launches a Summer Gym Challenge
If you’re the kind of skier who’s busy right now watching as many ski videos as possible to make it through the latest heat wave, dreaming of deep days ahead, you might want to take a look at this.
In an effort to help scratch the summer itch, Rossignol is launching a worldwide ski fitness competition with the help of Whistler-based pro skier and 2025 Freeride World Tour overall champion Marcus Goguen.
It’s called Road to Winter, and the idea is pretty simple. Every week, participating skiers get three bodyweight challenges: no gym, no equipment, nothing but them and a phone to record the effort. Do the workout, upload a video, and record your score on the Adrenaline Performance platform. Those scores are posted on a live global leaderboard, and every week Rossignol will reward top performers with free gear.
The challenges we can see so far look pretty straightforward: a vertical jump, a broad jump, and a lateral bound—all simple bodyweight movements that are a staple in Goguen’s off-season strength and conditioning routine. Each move has Goguen explaining exactly how to do it, giving a few cues to maximize performance (things like “think about pushing the floor away” for a jumping move), and a quick briefing on how that move will improve your on-snow performance come next ski season.

As someone who hated doing any sort of gym work in my 20s, the past few seasons have really taught me the importance of taking care of my body off the mountain. I’m not saying that had I gone to the gym when I was 23, I would’ve won the Freeride World Tour (I can dream), but a decade later, a few workouts a week are keeping me skiing like I was when I was 23. I’m excited to dive in.
The competition is live now, with the Week 1 window closing on July 12th. Each week, new challenges from Marcus will appear on the platform, with fresh gear on the line.
