Jeremy Jones Can Ski, Too (Video)

Professional snowboarder (of the big mountain variety), Jeremy Jones, has inspired a generation of single-plankers to push boundaries and chase steeps, but his bag of athletic tricks doesn’t stop at knuckle-dragging and speeding downhill sideways.

The man can apparently ski, too.

Chris Ernst, affectionately known as “Uncle E,” shared a follow-cam video of Jones skiing at Palisades Tahoe, California, this past weekend. While Jones is certainly better at the sport he helped bring to the mainstream, his skiing skills aren’t half bad.

Uncle E narrates as Jones makes clean turns down a groomed run off Shirley Express in the video below. Tap or click to watch. Keep reading for more.

We won’t bestow Jones with POWDER’s coveted “Skier of the Year” award, but his good-enough form, especially considering his preference for one plank, was enough to impress.

We shouldn’t be too surprised, as Jones started his snow sliding life on two planks, as Uncle E mentions in the video, but seeing him trade his beloved self-branded Jones snowboard in for a pair of plastic boots and a set of Bent 110s tickled something inside this skier’s brain.

I’ve noticed that many skiers take a spin on their old snowboard in the spring. It’s a nice change of pace after a long season, or so they say. Here’s hoping Jones starts an inverse trend, and I see a bunch of baggy-pants-wearing-PBR-chugging single-plankers ripping the ol’ disco sticks next season.
