Remembering The Guy Who Ran The Paris Marathon in Ski Boots

Marathons are among the top ultimate physical challenges in the world, asking you to run an enormous 26.2 miles. They’re already more than hard enough but some people, like Mike Humphreys, like to add their own additional challenges.

While running the Paris Marathon in 2025, Humphreys wore a rather unique pair of shoes: his ski boots. They appear to have been a pair of Tecnica Cochise, a freeride touring boot. Those do have a higher range of motion than regular ski boots, but it’s nothing compared to a proper, lightweight touring boot.

The 2026 Paris Marathon went down this past weekend. As far as we know nobody ran this years’s race in ski boots, but who knows what we’ll see as people start sharing more and more clips from the event on their social media.

Mikey is currently running the entire length of South America (not in ski boots) and was not at the 2026 Paris Marathon. You can follows his impressive journey on his Instagram page.
