Chose Your Best Time To Do The Right Move!

What is timing?

Timing often means the selection of the exact time or speed at which to do something in order to get the desired or best result.

What is timing in Ski?

Timing in skiing is extremely precious, doing the right thing at the right moment makes a huge of a difference in your performance.

Lack of timing is like losing the sequence of all moves that precede it. Using the right moment to do it correctly is the last thing that we should concentrate on.
We can say “Choosing the right time to do the right move”.
What are the moves that we should consider prior to every new turn:

  • Early edging
  • Toppling
  • Edging turn
  • Inclination
  • Angulation
  • Pressure
  • Release pressure

Hard snow conditions required the best timing and performance, a good performance requests extreme balance, and balance requests to choose what will be the right moment to affect your moves!

Putting all these moves together and achieving them at the right moment is extremely insane!
So, what will be the solution that we are looking for to maintain our time frame consistent?
In order to do that, we should start considering some kind of concentration on “when and how”.
When you should do the right move and how to do it are the accomplishment of a successful turn.
Simple training courses will help you to go step by step, start your practice on a flat terrain first where you can recuperate any false movement outside its timeframe.

My suggestion is to take your time first and go slowly but not too slowly and do every move in its best timeframe. Usually, when keeping your mind busy and concentrating on one objective called “discipline” your objective finds its way at the end. Doing one thing and one thing only in its timeframe will improve the success of other moves.
You will find some of the tricks in our library that will suit your level and condition fit your style and ambition.
