New Hampshire's King Pine Ski Area Eyes Expansion

New Hampshire’s King Pine Ski Resort has big plans for the future.

The resort, in a news release, announced that expanded trails and a new base lodge with live music and an event space are targeted for completion by 2030. Improvements for this winter include “new family après ski experiences, upgraded snowmaking, a refreshed tavern, new guest lockers and updated trail signage.” King Pine also joins the Indy Pass as a full member this year.

The Hoyt family, the owners of King Pine, Danforth Bay Camping & RV Resort, and Purity Spring Resort, shared the release and noted improvements that span the family businesses.

The Inn at Purity Spring Resort underwent a renovation this fall, including landscaping, fencing, signage, and exterior paint updates. A multi-million-dollar guest room renovation is in the plans as well. At Traditions, the resort’s on-site restaurant, an interior renovation is planned for the coming year, the release said.

Part of looking forward also involves establishing a new managing partner structure. Ali Hoyt and Paul “PJ” Morra are joining fellow managing partners Steven Hoyt and Andrew Mahoney.

Morra, a two-time Emmy Award-winning producer, will serve as Managing Partner of Development, Design, and Brand.

“These properties have a special history and a loyal following going back more than 115 years,” he said in the release. “Now is the time to build on that foundation with fresh energy, purpose, and improved guest amenities that create an unforgettable experience.”

Ali Hoyt will serve as Managing Partner, Hospitality and Strategy.

She said in the release that the business has been a part of her entire life, adding that she “grew up at the resort watching my family welcome guests, expand the business, and care for the property and our community.”

“As we work to reimagine our business, I’m honored to be doing this with my family and with PJ,” she said.

Located in Madison, King Pine spans six lifts, 23 trails, and 48 acres. The news of expanded trails follows announcements from another New Hampshire spot, Loon Mountain, which is eyeing major expansions in the coming seasons.
