Enhanced Coverage of Snowsports Next Season in Europe

Eurosport, TNT Sports and HBO Max are promising more live winter sports coverage and programming available across Europe throughout the 2026-2027 season.

The new winter sports season begins this month with Eurosport and TNT Sports set to broadcast more than 1,800 hours of programming including 126 days of world-class live action from October to April.

In total, 123 World Championship and World Cup titles will be won this winter across 12 different sports with each one broadcast live across Europe.

Eurosport and TNT Sports will showcase close to 100 race formats as part of the most complete winter sports offer with coverage of the entire season encompassing everything from skiing to snowboarding and curling to skating.

“Building on a record-breaking season that saw us bring winter sports coverage to more people across Europe than ever before, culminating in a monumental Olympic Winter Games Milano Cortina 2026, we are primed to build on that momentum,” said Scott Young, EVP EMEA Sports at Eurosport and TNT Sports.

“As the home of winter sports, we will cover every story on snow and ice this season with more live action, additional programming and new experts bringing fresh perspectives together with our unswerving approach to covering every major event.

“Our heritage as the premier winter sports broadcaster combined with innovative ways to consume content on HBO Max makes us the number one destination for every winter sports fan whatever their passion and we can’t wait for the season to begin.”

Streaming every major World Championship and World Cup event this season, HBO Max offers fans the ability to personalise their winter sports viewing experience with curated watch lists and features ensuring fans never miss a moment of the action.

Integrated into the app ahead of its coverage of Milano Cortina 2026, features available for selected overlapping major events throughout 2026-2027 include Multiview which displays up to four live event feeds on one screen.

Key Moments helps subscribers easily navigate to unmissable action points. Multi-language commentary will also be available for selected events.

ON-AIR PRESENTATION TEAM BOOSTED BY NEW WINTER SPORTS EXPERTS

To better connect fans with every story throughout the season, Eurosport and TNT Sports has expanded its roster of winter sports presenters, reporters and commentators with even more trusted voices and celebrated former athletes joining its on-air team.  “I’m really excited about this season,” said Olympic champion and Eurosport winter sports expert, Tina Maze.

“I think the only one who can compete with Mikaela Shiffrin right now is Emma Aicher, and maybe this will be the first year where we really see a tight battle for the Crystal Globe right to the end.

We want to see different athletes, different mentalities and different countries – that is what makes sport interesting.

With Petra Vlhová back on snow and so many exciting young names coming through in Italy, it’s going to be a fascinating season.”

The 2026-2027 winter sports season follows a record-breaking period of coverage and audience engagement for Eurosport, TNT Sports and HBO Max.

Its coverage of every event at the Olympic Winter Games Milan-Cortina 2026 across Europe saw three times as many streaming subscribers watching on HBO Max (compared to its streaming coverage of the previous Olympic Winter Games Beijing 2022 on discovery+) with linear viewership on Eurosport and TNT Sports also increasing with +50% more hours viewed overall (vs Beijing 2022).

Outside of its Games-time coverage, Eurosport, TNT Sports and HBO Max captivated a huge number of winter sports fans across Europe all season long with 86.5 million fans reached across all platforms.

Similarly, winter sports coverage on HBO Max attracted +35% more subscribers than the previous season with audience growth across all major winter sports including ski jumping (+40%), alpine skiing (+27%) and biathlon (+18%).

The first winter sports events live on Eurosport, TNT Sports and HBO Max:

  • FIS Alpine Skiing World Cup begins in Sölden, Austria on 24-25 October
  •  FIS Ski Jumping World Cup from Lillehammer, Norway on 20-23 November
