Deer Valley Is Giving Kids A Full Week Of Free Skiing This December

Children 12 and under can ski free at Deer Valley Resort for an entire week this December, with complimentary lift tickets available Dec. 5–11, 2026. The Utah resort’s Kids Ski Free Week promotion also includes 50% off its Tot and Junior ski rentals, giving families another way to reduce the cost of getting their children on the mountain.
Eligible children still need a valid Deer Valley lift ticket to access the chairlifts, even though the tickets are complimentary during the promotion. The resort says the offer applies to both online and walk-up lift tickets, with Friday, Dec. 11, marking the final day of the promotion.
Additional Savings On Lodging And Lift Tickets
Families planning an overnight visit can pair the free-skiing week with Deer Valley’s Ski, Stay & Save Package, which offers up to 30% off lodging and lift tickets, plus a $100 resort credit. That credit can be used at Deer Valley-owned and operated evening restaurants, retail shops and rental outlets.
The resort lists Dec. 4–17 among the package’s 30% discount dates, covering the entire Kids Ski Free Week. Minimum-night requirements vary by property, and guests seeking the package’s lift-ticket discount must purchase those tickets before 5 p.m. two days before their ski day.
The Promotion Starts On Deer Valley’s Planned Opening Day
Deer Valley is scheduled to open Dec. 5, conditions permitting, putting the promotion at the beginning of the 2026–27 season. Families should account for that early-season timing when planning a trip and check the resort’s terrain and lift status before arriving.
The resort is also continuing its Hail Peak expansion, with 200 additional skiable acres and seven new runs planned for this winter. Those additions will bring Deer Valley to 4,500 skiable acres, but the scheduled opening date should not be treated as a promise that all terrain will be available during the free-skiing week.
