Mt. Rose Ski Tahoe Announces Nearly $2 Million in Improvements for 2026-27 Season
Mt. Rose Ski Tahoe is preparing for the 2026-27 winter season with nearly $2 million in improvements across its mountain operations, snowmaking infrastructure, guest facilities, and tubing park.
Snowmaking and Grooming Upgrades
Mt. Rose has invested in its snowmaking capabilities ahead of the upcoming winter. The resort replaced a section of its main snowmaking line, strengthening a system that will play an important role in opening terrain and maintaining snow surfaces when natural snowfall is limited.
The grooming fleet is also expanding with the addition of a new PistenBully snowcat. The machine will join the resort’s existing fleet responsible for preparing the mountain each night. Mt. Rose also completed a summer retrofit of The Chuter lift. With that work finished, all of the resort’s lifts are now equipped with restraint bars.
Wildslide Snow Tubing Park Gets New Features
The Wildslide Snow Tubing Park is receiving several upgrades for the 2026-27 season. A new enclosure has been installed over the tubing lift, giving guests protection from winter weather during the ride to the top of the hill.
The Wildslide Lodge will also be open this winter with expanded services. The facility will offer food and beverage options, indoor seating, ticket sales, and retail services. A new LED sign at the tubing lift will provide guests with updates during their visit.
Main Lodge and Future Expansion
Inside the Main Lodge, Mt. Rose has redesigned the lobby and relocated Guest Services and Season Pass sales in an effort to improve traffic flow. The resort has also launched a new e-commerce website with improved transaction processing and added new rental equipment options.
Meanwhile, preliminary work has begun on a planned $11 million Mountain Operations facility. Construction is scheduled for next year, with the new building expected to provide additional vehicle maintenance space and consolidate outdoor mountain operations into one central location.
