Ikon Pass Adds Three New Asian Ski Resorts, Plus Two "Bonus Mountains"

With the addition of three new resorts in Japan and China, the Ikon Pass is further expanding its reach into Asia and adding more to its “bonus mountain” line-up ahead of the 2026-27 season.

Announced today, September 10, 2026, Ikon Pass holders will now have access to seven days each at Madarao Mountain Resort in Japan and Beidahu Ski Resort and Lake Songhua Resort in China, and five days each on the Ikon Base Pass with no blackout dates.

The Ikon Session Pass, Ikon’s ticket bundle program, isn’t included. Keep reading below for a breakdown of the new Ikon Pass partner resorts.

New Asian Ikon Pass Resorts

• Located in northern Nagano, Ikon bills Madarao Mountain Resort as a “tree skier’s playground.” The ski area leaves 60% of its terrain ungroomed and, on its website, touts its “12 official tree courses”—or, in other words, gladed areas. 

• Beidahu Ski Resort sits in the foothills of China’s Changbai Mountains and is among the Asia’s largest ski areas, with 13 lifts and 74 trails. 
• Centered just outside the Jilin City metro area, Lake Songhua Resort has earned China’s Best Ski Resort honors for nine consecutive years. 

The president and chief customer officer of the Ikon Pass, David Flueck, said in a release that “Japan’s snow needs no introduction, and Jilin province is one of the fastest-growing ski regions in the world.”

“These additions demonstrate the commitment of Ikon Pass to give more access to the mountains our pass holders love and a bucket list that spans the world,” he added. 

The three additions join an already sizable Asian Ikon Pass roster that includes nine Japanese resorts, one Chinese resort, and one South Korean resort.

As far as major destinations that could partner with a multi-pass go, North America is largely locked up, but Ikon has steadily expanded into Asia in recent seasons. The Epic Pass’s Asian foothold is smaller than Ikon’s, with just two Japanese resorts, while the Indy Pass, the ski pass that focuses on independent ski areas, partners with more than 20 Japanese ski areas.

Alongside the new Asian ski areas, Ikon Pass added two new bonus mountains, both of which are smaller and locals-oriented. Ikon Pass holders will get two days of skiing and riding at these locations this season.
