El Niño Is Coming For California's Ski Resorts: Here's When They Expect To Open

A cold front blasted California’s Sierra Nevada during the last week of August with temperatures in the low 40s and enough rain to signal that, yes, summer is finally over.

Between the season’s first taste of cool weather and the impending “super El Niño” forecast, California skiers and snowboarders have a lot to be excited about.

A “super El Niño” doesn’t necessarily guarantee that California’s ski resorts will experience an increase in snowfall, as the Central Sierra Snow Lab recently discussed, but the cards are certainly stacked in favor of a cold, snowy, and hopefully amazing ski season.
