Lindsey Vonn Hits Another Major Milestone In Injury Recovery

Lindsey Vonn nearly lost her leg in a horrific crash at the 2026 Winter Olympics, but, similar to her impressive professional comeback at age 40, she is used to beating the odds.

Not only did Lindsey Vonn not lose her leg, but she’s well on her way to a full recovery. She shared in June that she was back in the gym and was looking strong.

Vonn revealed in an Instagram post on August 25, 2026, that she hit another major milestone by getting back on her road bike. “First time back on a road bike…I cried,” Vonn wrote. “I’m happy and thankful.”

Vonn appears to have ridden her bike on the roads near Park City, Utah, in the Instagram post below. Tap or click the arrow to the right to progress through the slides.

Despite the grueling injury and long recovery, Vonn has remained busy this summer. She walked the red carpet at the ESPYs and TIME 100 Gala, wore a dress by Thom Browne at the 2026 Met Gala, and appeared on the cover of Vanity Fair.
