Mountain Biker Backflips Down Skinny Suspension Bridge 279 Feet Above River

Wild stunt by 32-year-old Italian professional mountain biker Torquato Testa who set up a jump ramp on a skinny cable suspension bridge and tossed a couple high consequence backflip attempts before sticking it.
The acrobatic trick went down on the Passerelle Himalayenne du Drac, located in the Isère department of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region in France. The Himalayan-style suspension bridge spans the Drac River and is part of a popular hiking loop that often involves a boat crossing to reach the trailheads Depending on the lake’s water level, the 722 feet long bridge is suspended up to 279 feet above the water’s surface so if Testa was to have missed his landing entirely he would have some time think about his mistake before getting wet.
It took the daredevil rider a few attempts to dial in the appropriate speed (came in a bit hot on the first one and nearly paid the price) before he finally landed cleanly and rode away with a celebratory wheelie.
