Skier Rides Behind Motorbike Alongside The Tour de France

Today officially marks the start of the 2026 Tour de France, with a team time trial in Barcelona (confusing, I know, but the Tour de France often starts in other countries) kicking off the multi-week long race.
With the world’s greatest bike race officially underway, now seems like a great time to remember this fantastic spectator moment from the 2025 Tour. During a stage in last year’s race, this skier was spotted being pulled behind a motorbike alongside passing Tour de France cyclists.
The race has a history of wild and wacky spectators, from people jumping over the race on mountain bikes to spectators causing major crashes and facing lawsuits or charges. The question for many spectators often seems to be “how can I make it on TV?”
Combining your love for shredding on skis with your love for the Tour de France is certainly one way to do it, and this spectator certainly deserved his moment of fame. It’s a completely harmless way to get involved in the event without disrupting it in any way. Fans like this are a major part of what makes watching the Tour such a blast.
