Hardcore Skier Ranks His Favorite Ski Resorts In The USA

USA Today is the 250th birthday of the United States of America.

The country is known for its natural beauty, which includes its mountains. In terms of its mountains, the USA features some of the best ski resorts on the planet. While they aren’t cheap to visit, the off-piste terrain rivals any ski resort on the planet. But which are the best to visit if you’re a hardcore skier?

Last year, popular skiing YouTuber Rise & Alpine ranked the U.S. ski resorts that he has visited. While there are only 16 ski resorts, these are the ones that typically pop up on the best-in-the-country and continent lists. His criteria mostly boil down to the quality of the skiing.

His top five picks were Arapahoe Basin, Alta, Telluride, Jackson Hole, and Snowbird. The Bird gets his number one pick thanks to the quality snow and great fall-line skiing.

It should be noted that he released this video back before the 2025-26 season. He has since made it to other US resorts, such as Mammoth, Kirkwood, Palisades Tahoe, and Stevens Pass. Based on his days there last winter, I’d imagine some of these are now in his top ten.

Ultimately, this list is best for hardcore skiers looking for the best fall-line skiing in the United States.
