Aerial Footage Captures Rescue Of An 88-Year-Old Hiker In Massachusetts

Massachusetts State Police and multiple emergency response teams launched a coordinated search operation on June 9th after an 88-year-old man became separated from his wife while walking in the woods of Savoy
Troopers from the Cheshire Barracks responded alongside the Massachusetts State Police Air Wing, Special Emergency Response Team (SERT), and Drone Unit. The Florida and Savoy Fire Departments also assisted in the effort.
Using a combination of ground and aerial search tactics, first responders located the missing man and reunited him with his family. EMS evaluated him at the scene before he was released. The Massachusetts State Police shared footage from the rescue, including thermal imaging.
The operation demonstrated how specialized resources and rapid multi-agency coordination can make a critical difference when time is a factor.
