The US Open of Mountain Biking Is Moving To Utah and Tickets Are Free

The US Open of Mountain Biking has a new home starting in 2026, following approval from the Park City Council last week. From September 10-13, 2026, Deer Valley Resort will host the Fox US Open on the Bald Eagle Mountain trail system.

The US Open is part of the Monster Energy Pro Downhill series, which has five stops across the country for professional and amateur downhill racers. The series kicked off its first two events of the season at Ride Rock Creek in North Carolina and Mountain Creek in New Jersey.

The third stop of the year also takes place in the Wasatch, at Solitude Mountain, from July 17-19, a new location for the series in 2025.

The U.S. Downhill Mountain Bike National Championships take place during round 4 of the Pro Downhill Series at Big Bear Lake, California, from July 24-26, before the US Open at Deer Valley.

The race will take place on what Deer Valley’s Senior Director of Mountain Operations, Garrett Lang, called the National Championship Series trail, which winds down from Bald Eagle Mountain to Snow Park Lodge. Admission to the event is free for spectators, and viewing zones for the course will be accessible on foot. Silver Lake Express and Homestake will both operate for public access to the bike park throughout the event.

The US Open stands out with its unique Open Class Pro/Amateur format, which allows up-and-comers to compete with the best riders in the country for an $80,000 cash purse. Previously, the US Open was held at Killington, Vermont.

Deer Valley’s bike park has returned to full capacity after operating on a limited footprint during last summer’s expansion. For the second year, Deer Valley has also teamed up with Solitude Mountain to offer the Wasatch Gravity Pass, which provides access to both resorts’ bike parks.
