Killington Plans To Operate This Weekend

Killington, Vermont — The snowpack of Killington Resort’s Superstar trail was looking pretty good heading into last weekend. Unfortunately, it is May, which tends to bring flowers rather than snow.

A look at how conditions were last weekend.

A warm front moved through Vermont over the past week, which led to a heavy depletion of Superstar’s remaining snow. This led to some bare spots popping up on the trail. However, snow grooming crews have worked their magic today, creating a snow-filled route on Superstar with the remaining snow. With a route like this, it should be noted that you should probably expect to do some dirt skiing and/or walking.

Killinton detailed their operational schedule today. If the snow sticks around, Killington will operate the Superstar Six on Friday (9 a.m. to 5 p.m.) and Saturday ( 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.). If the snow sticks around, they will reopen on Sunday. Tickets will be $40 on Saturday and (potentially) Sunday, which will benefit the Killington Recreation Department’s planned new pool.

If you’re looking for something a bit more summer-themed this weekend, it will be a triple-sport weekend at The Beast of the East. The mountain bike park opens on Friday, with most of the Snowshed trails available for riding. The golf course is also now open daily. Pico Mountain will also have the Total Archery Challenge going on from May 22nd to 24th.
