Lindsey Vonn Delivers Powerful Commencement Speech For USC Annenberg

Congratulations to American ski racing icon Lindsey Vonn who joined the ranks of Oprah Winfrey, Jane Fonda, Billie Jean King and Maverick Carter when she took the lectern to deliver the commencement speech for the USC Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism class of 2026.

The Olympic gold medalist, best-selling author, philanthropist and investor started her inspiring 17-minute speech with a bit of humor, joking that this was the first time that just climbing on the podium was an accomplishment onto itself referencing her recent injury suffered at the 2026 Winter Olympics in Italy. She went on to deliver powerful words about resilience and strength that were capped off by a standing ovation:

“Step into your own starting gate. Dare to dream. Even when it’s hard. Even when the outcome is uncertain. Even when people think you’re crazy for trying. Jump. Because the only real failure in this life is not trying. I’m excited for what your future holds and for the journey to your very own summit.” -Lindsey Vonn
