Bernie Rosow Tributes

  • Cody Townsend: “Damn buddy. Damn. F*ck. I’m so so sorry. You were an inspiration to skiing, to the Sierra and to me. Never will forget that day on Emerson and Checkered Demon together. One of my best east side days ever…and properly memorialized with a photo of you from that day living on my van wall. Damn.”
  • Ingrid Backstrom: “I’m so sorry. Bernie was such an inspiration!!!!!”
  • Henrik Harlaut: “So thankful for all the good times shredding with ya Bernie! RIP”
  • Brody Leven: “After meeting Bernie in 2004, I didn’t see him again until 20 years later, summer 2024. We caught up over the course of a perfect evening at a wedding, to which he decided to ride his motorcycle at the last minute, through a storm, from CA to UT. I made sure to get a picture of us together that night, it felt like something worth celebrating at another worthy celebration. I’ll be sure to revisit that today. We’ll miss Bernie.”
  • Reine Barkered: “I’m so sorry to hear the news. He was such a friendly guy, and he will be deeply missed.”
  • Andrew Pollard: “The most passion all the way till the end. Skiing will miss u.”
  • Abe Kislevitz: “Bernie is and will always be my inspiration on how to live life. I’ve always admired and looked up to him. Every time I spotted him on the mountain I couldn’t help but smile because it meant I was in the right place at the right time. Mammoth won’t be the same without him.”
  • Abby Manock: “Bernie and I both started working at the Alta Lodge in 1999, both from VT. He was hilarious and self deprecating and always wearing huge jeans and the most rumpled shirts. He was also kind and gentle and fearless with the biggest mischievous grin on his face. I am so sad to hear this news. I haven’t seen him in 26 years but we said hi every now and then. I will miss you, buddy, truly. Love always.
