See Behind the Scenes of the FWT's Canceled Stops in Nub TV Episode 2

If you even remotely followed the Freeride World Tour (FWT) this year, you might remember that several stops were canceled.

Perhaps it was the universe’s way of giving everyone a break during Ben Richard’s own personal tour of winning every stop he skied. Following the Freeride World Championships (which Richards also won), conditions led to the cancellation of the Georgia Pro stop, which was then moved to Austria, before subsequently being canceled again.

So, FWT skiers made their way to Fieberbrunn with high hopes until that stop was also canceled.

So, what did the FWT athletes, specifically Richards and Toby Rafford, get up to in lieu of competing? By the looks of the latest episode of Nub TV, which dropped this morning, a fair bit of enjoying Europe’s club scene, freeriding without a judge around, and a lot of eating.

Once again, the Nubz give us a little unfiltered look into this season’s “down day doom loop.” Does anyone else think it looks more fun than the tour itself?

You can watch all of Ben & Toby’s shenanigans in episode two, “Super Cancelled Nubz,” which, to be clear, refers to the competitions.

No one has canceled Ben or Toby, except maybe some of the crashes in this video or their own self-induced hangovers.

“What’s that saying about bad things coming in threes? I think that makes a lot of sense for this episode, and really for NUB TV in general,” said Richards of the episode, which makes us pretty curious to see episode three.

“A lot of traveling and lots of canceled comps, so we decided to hit the park to work on our 360s and double backflips. I guess the bar and the park,” said Rafford.

“It’s where our best selves usually come out,” replied Richards.

Once again, we’ve got to hand it to the Armada crew for bringing back the style of ski edit that’s reminiscent of the golden age of the Dad cams.

It’s a refreshing look at some of the most polished and talented freeriders around right now. Oh, and there’s a fair amount of sick skiing in there, too.
