The Largest Raclette In The World
Martigny below Verbier in Switzerland is aiming to build on the world record it set a year ago for the biggest ever raclette.
In this instance we are not talking a vast melted cheese but the number of people eating raclette simultaneously. A year ago the event at Martigny Expo set a record of 4,893 participants raclette eaters, more than doubling the 2,236 people participating in the previous record-setting cheese-a-thon set in Saint‑Étienne, France, in 2024.
The Swiss event, fuelled by local Raclette du Valais AOP and supported by more than 250 volunteers, was widely celebrated as a cultural triumph.

This year’s edition aims to go even bigger. While organisers have not yet released an official target figure, the tone of the campaign “We do it again” suggests an ambition to exceed last year’s 4,893‑person milestone.
The event will once again take place at Martigny Expo, where half‑wheels of Valais AOP cheese are melted and scraped in the traditional style.
Further details and updates are available at raclette.cool, where organisers are encouraging fans to share the announcement and prepare for what they promise will be an “unforgettable” second edition.
Verbier remains open for skiers, currently with around 75% of the 4 Valleys still skiable.
