Beginner Skier Initiative Aims To Help First Timers Master The Mountains
Always dreamed of learning to ski but never had the chance? Crystal Ski Holidays, the UK’s largest ski tour operator, has launched its latest ‘Slope Starters’ packages for next winter season. These dedicated beginner-only weeks are aimed at complete novices who have never skied or snowboarded before, who now have the chance to turn ‘what’s a snowplough?’ into ‘watch me go!’
Designed to offer high value for money, with all the key elements of a ski holiday included in one convenient package and price, the trips start from £995 per person. This includes seven-nights’ half-board accommodation, transfers, ski lessons, equipment hire, 6-day lift pass and return flights with 20kg luggage.
Slope Starters is designed with the total beginner skiing and snowboarding community in mind and will whisk travellers off to the mountains for a week of bumper skiing and socialising. Customers can choose from seven-night packages to Passo Tonale, Italy – the newly added resort to the Slope Starters programme, in addition to Soldeu, Andorra and St Johann, Austria.

Besides ski and snowboarding lessons, there’ll be plenty of activities on offer beyond the slopes to demonstrate what a ski holiday is all about. To create a sense of community and encourage attendees to make new friends, the week will start with welcome drinks at the hotel, partying at après-ski as well as access to the hotel’s wellness facilities throughout the week. And to round everything off, there’ll be an awards evening on the last night to celebrate customers’ debut trips to the mountains.
Scott Britton, Head of Crystal Ski Holidays, said: “At Crystal, we’re always looking for fresh ways to open up the world of skiing and snowboarding to complete beginners. A trip to the mountains creates the kind of memories that stick with you for life and our mission is to help more people experience those moments for themselves. Our Slope Starters programme has grown rapidly over the past few years, and demand keeps climbing. It’s a chance to meet new, like‑minded travellers along the way. And once they’ve had that first taste of the mountains, we hope they’ll keep coming back for more snow‑filled adventures and unforgettable memories.”
