Only 7 Tahoe Ski Resorts Remain Open, But Their Closing Dates Are Coming Fast

Heavenly, one of 7 ski areas left at Lake Tahoe.

The Lake Tahoe area, and much of California, has had a very rough season to date, with lackluster snowfall and warm weather making for some brutal conditions. Several of the Lake Tahoe area ski resorts have already closed up shop for the 2025/2026 ski season, hoping things will look quite a bit better next year, but seven ski resorts are still keeping things going for the time being.

7 Ski Resorts Still Open In The Lake Tahoe Area

Boreal/Woodward – Last day of April 5th, based on last day of available tickets.

Northstar California – Target closing date April 5th.

Sugar BowlClosing April 5th (Closed March 30th-April 1st to preseve conditions)

Heavenly Ski ResortTargeted closing date of April 19th.

Kirkwood Mountain Resort Targeted closing date of April 19th.

Mt. Rose-Ski TahoeNo date announced. April 26th is the last day of available tickets.

Palisades TahoeNo date announced.
