Snowboarder Comes Within Inches of Going Face First Into Rocks
Truly frightening close call for Italian snowboarder Riccardo Bertoldi who misjudged snow conditions and punched through a top layer of ice sending him headfirst into a rock which he only missed by mere inches:
“Every time I watch this video I feel more and more scared. For my misreading of the situation and the bad conditions of the snow, this is what happened; fortunately I am here to tell it, without serious consequences, but only a lot of bruises and to be honest with a different experience and awareness than before.” –Riccardo Bertoldi
Thankfully Riccardo missed the rock but still suffered a nasty scorpion. Great reminder to wear a helmet and to be weary when snow conditions are variable.
