New TV Series Follows Top Alpine Ski Racers
Alpine skiing concluded a widely praised edition of the Olympic Winter Games in Milano Cortina 2026 last week, and for ski racing fans attention now shifts to the remainder of the 25-26 World Cup season streamed live on TNT sports.
But earlier stages of The 2025/26 Audi FIS World Cup season has been documented (and continues to be so) in a new five‑part series, On the Edge: World Cup Ski Racing, available on Disney+.
The series follows an international group of World Cup athletes on and off the slopes, filming at several key venues on this season’s circuit, Beaver Creek, Courchevel, Kitzbühel, Wengen and Flachau, before concluding at the season finale in Lillehammer, Norway, later this month.
The series aims to highlight both the global development of Alpine skiing and the demands placed on athletes, noting that projects of this type can help broaden the sport’s reach after Milano Cortina 2026.
*On the Edge* is directed by Emmy Award‑winner Pat Dimon and produced by Bright North USA and FIS, in collaboration with the U.S. Ski Team and Team USA. Dimon said the documentary aims to show the realities of World Cup racing, including travel pressures, injuries and the mental demands of the sport.
The intitial episodes, featuring athletes including Lucas Pinheiro Braathen, Lindsey Vonn, Franjo von Allmen, Marco Odermatt, Mikaela Shiffrin and Sofia Goggia. The final episode five, covering the closing stages of the FIS World Cup and the Olympic Winter Games, will follow at a later date.
