Ski Hire at Intersport in St Anton
Our ski trip to St Anton was a classic group adventure: ten friends on a value for money package holiday, flying from London to Innsbruck and arriving late in the evening to a picture-perfect, snow-covered Austria.
After a long travel day, waking up early for our first morning on the slopes felt even more exciting knowing everything was set up and ready to go.
One of the biggest advantages of hiring ski equipment in resort quickly became clear.
Intersport is conveniently located right in the heart of St Anton, just a couple of minutes’ walk from our first lift, making it an easy and stress-free start to the day.

A Warm Welcome and Smooth Fitting Process
On arrival at the shop, we were greeted by Simon, whose friendly and accommodating approach immediately put us at ease.
As first-time skiers in St Anton, having someone local to talk to made a real difference.
Our boots were fitted with real care, taking both the length and width of our feet into account to make sure they were comfortable from the start.
Something that makes a huge difference when you’re spending full days on the mountain.

Within no time at all, our boots were set up with the skis and bindings adjusted to suit each of us.
Simon shared some invaluable tips about skiing in St Anton, including advice on the best areas to explore and how to make the most of the conditions during the week.
The fitting process was efficient and unrushed, and we were impressed by the quality of the equipment.

For anyone interested in purchasing boots, Intersport also offers advanced 3D foot scanning technology, which shows the level of expertise and attention to detail available in the shop.

Lockers – Convenience and Less Carrying
One of the standout features of hiring through Intersport was the use of lockers at the shop.
Being able to store skis, boots and even shoes on site completely transformed the daily routine.

There’s nothing worse than lugging heavy ski gear through town, and this meant we could walk to and from the slopes in normal shoes and in comfort.
At the end of the day, we could simply drop off our gear and head straight into town — perfect for finishing with a hot chocolate after a long day on the mountain.
The shop is open until 7pm every day, which also meant we could enjoy après-ski without rushing back, knowing there was plenty of time to return our skis to the locker.
Flexibility on the Mountain
Once on the slopes, everyone in the group was extremely happy with their ski and boot setup.
Later in the week, the flexibility of hiring really paid off.
On day three, Jonny decided to go off-piste skiing with a guide, and Intersport allowed him to swap his skis for a model better suited to the off-piste powder conditions.

The process was smooth, quick and completely hassle-free.
On day four, we skied over to Lech, which also has an Intersport centre.
The journey can be quite complicated if you’re unfamiliar with the area, so the local knowledge and advice Simon had given us earlier in the week proved invaluable.
Making the Most of St Anton
The rest of the week flew by.
We were lucky with perfect snow conditions and enjoyed some fantastic mountain restaurants along the way.
One highlight was the Arlberg Hospiz Alm, which quickly became our group favourite thanks to its welcoming atmosphere and excellent sharing board.
On our final day, we skied back to Intersport for the last time and were once again met by the same friendly, helpful staff who had made the whole experience so easy from day one.
Why We’d Hire with Intersport Again
Looking back, our favourite things about hiring ski gear with Intersport in St Anton were the sheer convenience of not having to carry equipment every day, the ability to chat with a local each morning for up-to-date advice on conditions and closed slopes.
Above all, we loved the genuinely welcoming and knowledgeable team at Intersport in St Anton.
