Skier Winds Up Stuck On A Cliff With Just One Ski At Whistler Blackcomb

If you want to ski or snowboard off some sweet cliffs right in view of the lift line, Whistler Blackcomb is a great place to do it. Several chairlifts pass over some of the gnarliest cliff bands on the mountain, many of which people attempt to ski on a decently frequent basis. Of course the big risk of skiing such cliffs is having a crowd watching you while you mess it up and wipeout.
This brutal clip, shared by skier Todd Paterson, was captured from the base of Whistler’s Peak Express, taking skiers and snowboarders to the very top of the mountain (as the name suggests). The skier in question managed to get down a pretty sticky section but somehow managed to lose one of his skis right before the cliff drop, leaving him stuck right at the top of a jump with just one ski.
The air doesn’t look that massive and the snow below looks fairly deep, so his best bet might be to just leap off and hope for the best. He could drop the other ski and cannonball it into the snow below, too. Unfortunately we don’t know the exact results of this situation, but hopefully the guy came out of it just fine.
