Kitzbühel’s Sound | Escape Festival Returns
Kitzbühel will host the third edition of its electronic music festival, Sound | Escape, from 20–22 March 2026. The three‑day event will feature more than 30 artists performing across 19 mountain and town venues, including two dedicated Alpine Stages.
The festival builds on two successful previous editions and continues to develop its concept, according to Kitzbühel Tourism Managing Director Dr Viktoria Veider‑Walser. She said the event strengthens long‑standing local ties to electronic music and unites businesses across the ski area and town “through an innovative concept”.
Two Alpine Stages Anchor the Programme
Sound | Escape brings together existing electronic music initiatives from mountain huts, bars and clubs under one coordinated programme.
The 2026 edition will open on Friday, 20 March, with performances at Alpenhaus on the Kitzbüheler Horn before continuing into participating venues in the town.
On Saturday, 21 March, the focus shifts to Hahnenkamm, with music running from the mountain down into Kitzbühel’s nightlife.
A relaxed finale on both the mountain and in town will close the festival on Sunday, 22 March.
Headline Acts Announced
Internationally recognised house DJ and producer Claptone will headline the festival, known for his signature Venetian mask and global touring schedule, including appearances at major events such as Tomorrowland and Coachella.
Returning artists include Brazilian‑Austrian DJ Joyce Muniz, last year’s standout act KILIMANJARO, and Austrian producer Wolfram. Long‑established Kitzbühel favourites Marvin Aloys, Steve Hope and Tom Pool also feature in the line‑up.

Lift Operations and Ticketing
Adjusted lift operating hours will be in place during the festival weekend:
- Friday, 20 March 2026:
- Hornbahn I & II: open until 19:00
- Hahnenkammbahn: open until 23:00 (with a break from 17:00–17:45)
- Saturday, 21 March 2026:
- Fleckalmbahn: open until 18:30
- Hahnenkammbahn: regular Saturday hours until 18:00
A valid Bergbahn AG Kitzbühel lift ticket is required for all mountain venues. Discounted return tickets for the Alpine Stages will be available for €20.
- On Friday, the special ticket applies to pedestrian access via Hornbahn I & II to Alpenhaus.
- On Saturday, the ticket is available for Fleckalmbahn at its valley station.
Some ski‑area venues can also be reached on foot from gondola stations.
High Demand Expected
Organisers recommend advance reservations at participating venues due to strong interest following previous editions. Entry at Alpenhaus on the Kitzbüheler Horn will operate on a first‑come, first‑served basis.
The festival will proceed in all weather conditions, and programme changes may occur at short notice.
