Skier Nearly Decapitates Himself Skiing Under Chairlift

Skiing under the chairlift is usually a great way hunt down some good snow with an audience watching, but it can get pretty dangerous depending on where you are. And no, I’m not talking about the risk of hitting the pole. In areas where the snow gets especially deep or the chair is especially low, there’s a chance you could hit your head on the skis or snowboard of a chairlift rider above you.
That’s exactly what happened to skier Colter Hinchliffe while riding in Japan. Potentially getting a bit too distracted by the incredible snow, he nearly slammed his head into a snowboard right above him.
This video should be a reminder to keep your head up and stay alert for hazards you might not expect, but it can also serve as a testament of Japan’s remarkable snow quality. We’re glad to see Colter managed to avoid this potential decapitation.
