Snowboarder Rescues Random Man Stuck In Ravine At Japan Ski Resort

Snowboarder stuck in ravine in Japan.

This video serves as yet another reminder of how important it is to ski or snowboard with a buddy if you’re planning to head off trail, even just to pop into the woods. While trail hazards might be well marked at some resorts, you can run into hidden rocks, trees, or even holes no matter where you are. That’s especially true outside of the country, where off-piste terrain isn’t necessarily mitigated like it is in North America.

The clip was captured by Axel Folkesson as he was riding at Kiroro Ski Resort in Hokkaido, Japan. He, very fortunately, came across a snowboarder who had fallen and wound up stuck in a hole in the snow. Folkesson and others were able to help the man out of the snow, with him thanking the strangers for their help.

The guy was covered in snow but it seems as though he wouldn’t have been able to escape without the assistance of these strangers. Who knows how this would have ended if he hadn’t been found by the passing snowboarder.
