After Losing Ski In First 5 Seconds, Big Mountain Competitor Achieves Complete Redemption Before Crossing Finish Line

Unlike the highly manicured race courses that the athletes at the Winter Olympics compete on, big mountain freeriding venues are all natural including pesky hazards like hidden rock protrusions.
The following video comes from the legendary freeride venue of Ordino ArcalÃs, Andorra where the inaugural Allianz FIS Freeride World Championships Andorra 2026 was held on February 3rd, 2026.
65 of the most elite freeriders in the world tested their skills on this incredible face including 20-year-old skier Kelly Hilleke from Aspen, Colorado who met an unfortunate obstacle in the first moments of his competition run but totally redeemed himself by the time he skied across the finishing.
Cheers to Kelly who didn’t give up after losing a ski (despite his run automatically score zero) rather the Aspen ripper charged super hard and threw a front flip, two 360s and double flip. What a showman! Here’s the sequence of events from Kelly’s view.
