TeamGB’s Muir 3rd In Freeski Slopestyle Olympic Finals Qualification

Aberdeen’s Kirsty Muir placed third in qualifications for Monday’s finals in Freeski Slopestyle at the Milan-Cortina Winter Olympics.

23 athletes were competing for 12 spots in the final.

The top competitors usually save their biggest tricks for the final once safely qualified.

International media attention is heavily focussed on Swiss skier Mathilde Gremaud, the current world champion who is going for back-to-back Olympic titles.

China’s Eileen Gu, one of the sport’s global superstars, fell early in the first of her two qualifying runs but easily qualified with her performance in the second.

Kirsty Muir arrives at the Olympics having won the X Games gold in the event in Aspen just over a week ago, with a score of 93.66 from her first run.

The final starts at 10.30am UK time on Monday.
