SkiWeekends adds Saturday to Saturday Les Gets beginner week
SkiWeekends is reshaping its usual programme next March to support a new beginner-focused ski festival in Les Gets, introducing a rare Saturday to Saturday stay for one dedicated week aimed squarely at first-time skiers and snowboarders.

From 21–28 March 2026, the French resort will host the Premier Ski Festival, an all-inclusive week designed to take the stress out of learning to ski. Lessons, equipment, lift passes and a programme of social and mountain activities are wrapped into a single festival-style experience, all based in one of the Alps’ most beginner-friendly resorts.
Les Gets, just over an hour from Geneva Airport, has long been recognised for its gentle nursery areas, confidence-building green runs and traditional village atmosphere. The festival taps into a growing demand from newcomers who want to learn alongside others at the same stage, rather than feeling dropped into a conventional ski week designed for mixed abilities.
The format is deliberately social. Beginners spend the week learning together, with structured ski or snowboard lessons and off-slope activities, while enjoying a relaxed festival feel around the village. For couples or groups with mixed abilities, it solves a familiar problem. First-timers can focus on lessons, while more experienced skiers explore the wider Portes du Soleil, meeting back up for après-ski and evening meals. Solo travellers are equally well catered for, with plenty of opportunities to meet fellow beginners.

Accommodation for the week is centred on SkiWeekends’ Chalet Marjorie. Guests can choose a 7 or 8-night stay on a chalet-board basis, including cooked breakfast, afternoon tea, and 3-course evening meals with wine. The chalet also features a steam room and a heated outdoor hot tub. Prices start from £1,141pp for 7 nights, including shared return transfers from Geneva Airport.
On top of this, the Premier Ski Festival package costs €399pp (around £340pp at current exchange rates). This covers lift passes, equipment hire, lessons, entertainment and additional mountain activities, making it a straightforward option for those new to winter sports.
To make the festival work properly, SkiWeekends has adjusted its normal arrival and departure pattern. By switching to a Saturday to Saturday schedule, guests can begin lessons together on the Sunday, maximising learning time across the full week in resort.
Sarah Fox, Marketing Manager at SkiWeekends, said:
“This week is a great opportunity for first-time skiers or snowboarders to experience what it’s really like to get on the slopes in a supportive environment with others who are starting from scratch. Everyone needs to begin lessons together on the Sunday, so we adapted our booking system to make that possible. The learning curve is fast, and by day two we expect most beginners to be confidently up and running.”
