Small Countries That Have Won Big At The Winter Olympics

The opening ceremony for the Winter Olympics is just a few days away (scheduled for Friday, February 6th), and with it will come the names of quite a few countries you probably haven’t heard about in a little while. There are always a handful of small countries that send a few athletes like, for this year, Guinea-Bissau, Luxembourg, Benin, and more. To celebrate the upcoming Olympics, the Olympic channel took a look at a few smaller countries that have won big at the Winter games.
Benin and Guinea-Bissau are both making their Winter Olympic debut this year, with Nathan Nathan Tchibozo representing Benin and Winston Tang representing Guinea-Bissau, both in Alpine Skiing. The United Arab Emirates will also be making their Winter Olympic debut with two athletes competing in Alpine Skiing.
