Man Critical After Les2Alpes Avalanche

The avalanche occurred shortly before 11 a.m. in an off-piste area in the Fée Ouest sector, at an altitude of around 2,500m.

A 59 year old man was found in cardiac arrest when the emergency services arrived.

Resuscitation efforts succeeded in restoring his cardiac activity.

He was evacuated by helicopter to hospital in Grenoble in a critical condition.

We will update this article when we receive additional information.

Earlier this week there were further deaths in the French Alps and French Pyrenees.
