Oregon Ski Resort Offering $59 Tickets As Dry Season Perists

Government Camp, Oregon — If you told me that after announcing that Timberline Lodge would be offering $59 tickets after stating pass prices were going up due to liability risks, I’d say you were coco for Cocoa Puffs. But that’s the current situation at Timberline Lodge, which is feeling the impact of a lack of snowfall.
After concluding its summer season on August 17th, warm weather delayed the 2025-26 season on Timberline until December 22nd. While they do have a low snowpack (36″ at the base), Timberline surprisingly has a decent amount of terrain and lifts open. This includes Magic Mile, which usually doesn’t open until the Spring.
Timberline Lodge has announced that it is offering $59 lift tickets on Monday-Thursday this week. Guests can redeem this offer at the lift ticket window. There’s also some nice discounts this week, with all-day happy hour at the Wy’East Cafe and Y’Bar, and 20% off gear at Wy’East Store. If you don’t have a season pass there, this is a great time to go.
It’s a sign of how bad things have been for Oregon, which is dealing with its worst snowpack since 1981. Their next-door neighbor, Mt. Hood Ski Bowl, isn’t open during the daytime now to preserve the snowpack. Mt. Ashland Ski Area has had to start and stop its season a couple of times. According to the Oregon Statesman, Hoodoo Ski Area is operating despite having a snowpack that would typically keep it closed.
Some light snow and rain could be coming in the days ahead for Oregon. Let’s hope the heavy snow comes soon for Oregon and other mountains out west.
