Illegal Ski-Paraglider Crashes Into Tree At California Ski Resort

Mammoth Lakes, CA — Wild footage from the slopes of Mammoth Mountain where a skier-paraglider was sent to the hospital last week after smashing into a tree. A guest riding the Cloud 9 chairlift caught the collision on video and posted it to the Mammoth sub-Reddit:

“Happened right around 4pm on my last lap. Saw a paraglider pretty low so I started filming. Called ski patrol right after. Crazy stuff.” –Key-Active592

Mammoth officials confirmed that there was a “paragliding incident” after which the victim was transported to the hospital. According to Mammoth, paragliding on resort property is in violation of federal regulations. SFGATE obtained an enlarged version of the original video posted to Reddit which you can view below.
