Monterosa’s New Toboggan Run
Italy’s Monterosa Ski has launched an exciting new toboggan run, marking a major highlight of the Aosta Valley resort’s new season.
Located in in Gressoney‑La‑Trinité, the new Murmeltier toboggan run, served by the Moos chairlift, is dedicated entirely to tobogganing yet equipped with its own snowmaking and full floodlighting for evening sessions on Wednesdays and Saturdays. The 550‑metre long run is now open daily from 08:45 to 16:45, with night openings until 22:30, the run includes sledge hire in the ticket price, with five‑run passes from €12 and ten‑run passes from €20. Helmets are compulsory.
The debut of the Murmeltier run comes as Monterosa Ski rolls out a raft of upgrades across its three valleys. Gressoney‑Saint‑Jean’s Sonne Baby Snow Park has been fully renovated and extended, while Champorcher Valley has completed a significant snowmaking upgrade. Lifts have also resumed operation in Brusson, Antagnod and Alpe di Mera.
This winter also sees the full introduction of Bluetooth Low Energy digital day passes, allowing skiers to go straight to the lifts using their smartphone and cutting down on paper and queueing.
The developments reinforce the Aosta Valley’s reputation as one of Italy’s most accessible and spectacular mountain regions. Nestled between France and Switzerland and framed by giants such as Monte Rosa, Gran Paradiso and Mont Blanc, the valley combines world‑class skiing with Roman‑era heritage, acclaimed food and easy access from Turin, Milan and Geneva airports.
