The Alps’ Biggest Charity Event Returns

The Alps’ Biggest Charity Event Returns

Le Grand-Bornand in the French Alps is preparing to host the 17th edition of Glisse en Cœur (which translates as “Snow in the Heart”), from 20–22 March 2026, the Alps’ biggest charity event.

The French Alpine resort has turned this 24‑hour ski relay into a major fundraising force, generating nearly €5.5 million for more than 31 children’s charities since its launch 16 years ago.

The concept is simple but spectacular: teams ski non‑stop for 24 hours, from 2 p.m. on Saturday to 2 p.m. on Sunday, taking turns on the slopes in a round‑the‑clock relay. The atmosphere is famously festive, blending endurance sport with live concerts, entertainment and a carnival‑style village that draws crowds from across the region. More than 150 teams took part in 2025, underscoring the event’s growing appeal.

Glisse en Cœur has become a flagship moment in the French mountain calendar, combining athletic challenge with a strong spirit of solidarity. Organisers expect another record‑breaking turnout in 2026 as the resort once again rallies skiers, supporters and charity partners for a weekend of energy, generosity and celebration.
