Skier Sends Jaw-Dropping Front Flip For The First Run Of The Season On McConkey’s @ Palisades Tahoe

Palisades Tahoe is home to quite a number of legendary ski runs like Chimney, Corkscrew, and the Fingers, but none of them quite stack up in terms of reputation quite like McConkey’s (aka Eagle’s Nest).
The pressure and pride associated with being the first person of the season to send Eagle’s Nest is real, with some people shooting for multiple years in a row. Professional skier Isaac Kaufman took the first run of the season on McConkey’s for the second season in a row this year, making his way down the face with less-than-ideal snow conditions before sending a huge front flip.
Palisades Tahoe legend Scott Gaffney commented about the difficulty of actually grabbing the title multiple years in a row these days, pointing out that with the talent pool out there, skiers are forced to send it with very little snow. Scott actually got the first run of the season on McConkey’s 5 years in a row back in the early-mid 2000s, but he admits that it was much easier back then.
