Backyard Moose Brawl Knocks Out Alaskan’s Internet Antenna

An Alaskan resident lost access to the internet after a moose brawl knocked out his Starlink antenna.
Taylor Thomas Albright shared this video that he apparently captured within the first few days of 2026 to his social media, explaining how he came to notice and film the incident. According to his post, he heard a crash in the yard and went to investigate and that’s when he saw that the moose had knocked down his Starlink.
Albright believes that this was a female with an older calf who she no longer wanted around. The maternal bond is generally maintained between mothers and calves until the young reach about 12 months old. At that point, the mother aggressively chases her offspring from the immediate area, which would fit the pattern of this incident.
Moose are a fairly common sight throughout most areas of Alaska, so it’s important that residents and visitors know to leave plenty of space between themselves and moose at all times. More people are injured by moose than by bears in Alaska each year, so never approach moose and never attempt to feed them.
