This Japanese Resort Will Wax Your Skis For Free While You Wait In Line
Lift lines often feel like a complete waste of time. You’re just sitting there, waiting to be given the opportunity to go back uphill. A short line isn’t that big of a deal, but a longer, 15-20 minute line can be mind numbing. Japan’s Inawashiro Ski Resort has found a rather interesting way to make the lift line feel more productive, offering a free, fast waxing for your skis or snowboard while you’re waiting.
Inawashiro’s “Wax Tunnel” applies a liquid wax to the gear, drying in under 30 seconds and sending you out on your way for a faster lap. The wax tunnel is open from 8:30am to 4pm every day, running from December 19th, 2025, to March 22nd, 2026. There’s a tunnel at the base area of the mountain and the Minero area of the mountain, and they’re all free.
