Boyfriend Drops Engagement Ring 118 Feet During Ski Resort Proposal…Ends Happily

Wedding proposal gone wrong at Michigan ski resort.

Imagine popping the big question only to have the engagement ring slip through you fingers and fall 118 feet into snow. Sounds like a nightmare right? Well thats exactly what happened when Trevor Van Camp got down on one knee to propose to his girlfriend Danielle Jenkins at Boyne Mountain Resort in Michigan.

Van Camp chose the resort’s famous timber built suspension bridge as the perfect romantic spot and cameras were rolling when he opened the ring box, trouble is he bumbled the ring and it slipped through the bridges grated floor and fell over ten stories to the snow covered ground.

It was funny to them for a second then panic set in, she may have wanted to marry him but that ring was expensive and they needed to find it. The pair combed the slopes for two hours using a metal detector lent to them by the resort’s night shift snowmaking supervisor, Pat Harper, but came up empty.

Determined to save the day, Pat Harper and a coworker took over the search. About a half hour later the resort employees heard the telltale beep from the metal detector and found the buried ring.

Van Camp and Jenkins had chalked it up as a loss and were packing up to leave with the plan to “head to Kay Jewelers to get a new ring” when the got the news the ring was found. The happy couple plan to return to Boyne Mountain Resort at some point and redo the proposal, hopefully Van Camp doesn’t get a butterfingers the next time around.
