Most Direct Route To Stevens Pass Reopens Ahead Of Schedule

Washington — After a couple of weeks of concern amongst skiers and riders, the most convenient way to reach Stevens Pass has reopened.

Yesterday, Highway 2 West reopened, giving Seattle skiers and riders convenient access to Stevens Pass. Previously, they had a longer drive of at least 4 hours. Also, the US miles 64-71 reopened yesterday, providing easy access to Stevens Pass from the east side.

It’s a huge success for Stevens Pass, which had guests frustrated after stating that no refunds would be offered for season passes. Last month, a major washout of the road occurred following a Pineapple Express rainstorm. There were fears that the road would be closed for months. However, you can’t underestimate the work of road workers, who deserve a couple of beers for their hard work.

To limit traffic, Stevens Pass plans to begin its parking reservations program for the 2025-26 season on January 3rd. However, they still have parking spots that are available without reservations.
