Up To A Foot Of Snow Expected Across Northern New England In The Coming Days

High end amount snowfall forecast.

Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, and northern New York are all looking to receive a welcome dose of fresh now over the coming days ahead of Christmas, with the National Weather Service releasing several Winter Weather Advisories pointing toward a fair bit of snow across several of the region’s ski resorts.

Northern New York is likely to see some snowflakes starting Tuesday morning, with the weather reaching into Vermont by the afternoon. A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for the area between 7am Tuesday and 7am Wednesday, with 3-5 inches expected throughout the area.

New Hampshire and Western Maine could tart to see flakes starting around noon on Tuesday, with the advisory running from 12pm Tuesday to 7am Wednesday. Those areas will likely also see a similar 3-5 inches. Central Maine will potentially see between 3-6 inches from 6pm Tuesday through noon on Wednesday.

Portions of south central and southwest Maine, in addition to areas in Coastal Hancock County, could see more than 6 inches throughout the storm. From Tuesday through Wednesday, some isolated areas could see amounts up to a foot and beyond.

Sunday River, Sugarloaf, Loon, and other resorts are likely to benefit from this winter weather, in addition to significantly increasing the chances of a White Christmas on Thursday. Make sure to keep an eye on your local forecast and be prepared for travel impacts throughout the coming days.
