Caution Urged Off Piste After Death of British Skier
The 24-year-old died in a fall in the French resort of Les Arcs on Thursday 18th December.
A statement from the resort said he was skiing in the Chavonnes off piste area.
The alarm was raised at 2.29pm and ski patrollers immediately rushed to the scene.
First aid was administered and the medial helicopter from Courchevel arrived at 3pm.
Despite all their efforts, the man could not be resuscitated.
“The Les Arcs ski area extends its deepest sympathies to the victim’s family and loved ones,” the statement said.

According to media reports, the 24-year-old began descending the steep slope above the Chavonnes avalanche barrier.
He lost his balance and fell several hundred metres, going over a rocky ledge and landing in an old snowdrift.
A second skier, who was trapped on the slope was airlifted to safety.
The ski patrol is urging caution on steep off-piste routes, especially this early in the season and where the snowpack is thin and hard.
There has been no significant new snowfall in Les Arcs and much of the Alps for several weeks and none is forecast this side of the New Year.
