Lake Louise Adds 200 Acres of New Terrain
It’s beginner and intermediate offerings, and there is more to come.
The area provides five new green and blue runs, along with some wide and gladed terrain.
There were plenty of people heading over to the area on its opening to sample its offerings.

The runs are serviced by the new Richardson’s Ridge Express, a detachable high-speed quad.

All of us couldn’t wait to get up there.

Covering around 200 acres, Richardson’s Ridge is similar in size to the Larch area, and offers sweeping views of Pika Valley.
But no such views today as the area opened.
No matter.

“Richardson’s Ridge creates new opportunities for skiers and riders of all abilities to explore low-angle, approachable terrain in a spectacular alpine setting,” said the resort.

However, there is no real mention of the new area on the main resort maps, or the signs.
That will no doubt come in time.

After skiing the new slopes I caught up with the Sales Director for the Lake Louise Ski Resort, Emmett McPartlin, in his office:
The new area builds on a series of significant investments made over the past five years in Lake Louise:
- The Summit Quad
- West Bowl
- The Juniper Express Lift and Learning Area
- The Pipestone Express six-pack
Together, these projects reflect Lake Louise’s long-term commitment to growth, terrain diversity, and enhancing the overall guest experience.
“Richardson’s Ridge captures the spirit of Lake Louise: More Mountain. More Possibility. More Adventure,” said the resort

And if you are wondering about the early season snow conditions in Lake Louise, it has probably the best conditions in North America.
Perhaps the world.
Here’s the snow report video from James that is posted elsewhere on PlanetSKI:
PlanetSKI’s Canadian Adventures
We are self-funding the Canada trip and retaining all editorial independence so we can post as we see it without influence and spin + do what we want.
Airfares, accommodation, lift passes, car hire and day-to-day living expenses are covered by PlanetSKI.
Though if a resort wants to buy us a beer or lunch it would be rude to refuse!
To find out more about skiing in Canada check out what is on offer from the UK operator Inghams Ski or the UK ski agent, SNO.
