Crashes on Iowa's I-80.

Winter conditions can quickly make driving incredibly dangerous, with ice and snow covered roads causing vehicles to lose control and making breaking difficult and hazardous. While we’re normally focused on accidents in the mountains, as that’s what tends to impact the skiing and snowboarding season, this clip captured along I-80 in Iowa demonstrates just how dangerous winter conditions can be.

Car after car and truck after truck are seen flying down the highway despite the winter conditions. By the time they reach the spot where semis are pulled off to the side and multiple vehicles have already crashed, coming to a complete stop in time is near impossible. As such, many of these cars and trucks are seen gliding completely out of control, pulling off I-80 and into the median to prevent colliding with the vehicles in front of them.

As winter season continues, it’s vital that you ensure your vehicles are in good operating condition for winter weather, check ahead of time for road conditions, operate safely around snow removal equipment, use good driving skills to avoid losing control of your vehicle. The most important thing to remember is to SLOW DOWN in winter weather conditions. Going too fast puts both you and everyone else on the road in danger.
